When local music, businesses and the community all come together we all win. 

This year we are planning a root tooting, rip roaring family friendly 2 day music festival and children's art show and contest for the community of Bismarck, ND. This event will be offered free of charge to the community to ensure our whole community can attend regardless of ability to pay, but free will donations for those that can afford to donate are appreciated $25 suggested to ensure we can keep the Jamboree alive and return next year. 

A big thanks goes out to Bismarck Parks and Recreation for helping us find the perfect place for this event. I will update the exact location in Bismarck once the park permits are officialy in.

This year we've already been onsite to start planning, and we have most of the musical acts lined up and ready to play. Expect to hear all sorts of music from local bands and musicians. We are over flowing with talent due to our long winters, the international music camp at the Peace Gardens, multiple music degrees offered through BSC the University of Mary, amazing musical educators in the public schools, and last but not least our small music schools and private lesson teachers that are all out there making our community one of the most musical places on earth. There will be all sorts of acts and the community will be voting thumbs up for their favorite bands they hear. The act that wins the most thumbs ups will be awarded the prestigious golden prairie dog award. 

We will also be having a prairie dog art competition all day August 22nd. Official contest forms will be out online a couple weeks prior online, but supplies and entry forms will also be available at the Prairie Dog Jamboree Art Station all day August 22nd. Participation prizes will be given to every child who enters. 

August 23rd will be the Prairie Dog Art Show displaying all the finalists artwork, and the top 3 places will be announced with cash prizes. We will be working within Bismarck to bring in some top notch art judges. Bismarck has a long history of supporting the arts, with a local college and university both offering various art classes it draws students from all over. Our schools continue to offer a robust art education that encourages our children to continue to imagine and create.

This year we are also looking to transform a whole picnic shelter into the largest selfie booth in all the land, so bust out those selfie sticks, squeeze the family in frame and make a memory at any of the 8 giant photobooth back drops in the shelter. 

Local food trucks will be available at the event bringing family and regional favorites to the event. Did someone say icecream, yeah we'll be making sure one of those trucks has ice cream, because we all know how much prairie dogs love ice cream, or bring a blanket and a picnic, find a nice piece of grass and set up for a day of fun for the whole family.
