Spring is Sprung Creating Content on the Cheap

It's beautiful out and this is the perfect time to create content videos and images on the cheap. While it may seem like a waste of a band practice to take a day to go out take images and photos one afternoon can give you enough content for postings, videos and other uses for months.

Tips and Tricks:

Take an extra friend, a spouse, or anyone who has an extra thumb to ensure you can get whole band shots.

There are no bad ideas, do them all think quantity and sift through later after the day is over.

Don't let perfection stand in your way, have fun cut loose….. do hang from monkey bars.

Wear sunscreen, take water, don't wilt it's been a long winter.

Bring your instruments… saxophone player from behind a tree…. Brilliant!

Make a day of it, rent a picnic shelter at your favorite park and turn the day into a band bonding grill out everyone will remember.

Bring your four legged friends. Got a leash, people love photos of animals and it adds a personal touch fans crave.

Break into groups to scout fun and fantastic finds. Images and videos of plants, bugs and nature can be incorrperated in all sorts of social media and video projects.

Head downtown and get a bit of grundge.

Find interesting signs and buildings to use as backdrops all around the area.

For river and bridge shots my favorite place is our trail system. Not to mention a great video opprotunity if you have an extra set of thumbs with.

Giant metal eagle sculpture anyone?

I hope you find this useful. This week I'm working on getting us the online directory and community calander up, so we can have that going sooner rather than later. At least if we can get that finished online it will be public facing and searchable, so this project has been prioritized until completion for the next week or so.

We've Got Dates

We're in the final stages of securing the venue in Bismarck, but it looks to be all systems ago, so bust out that sharpie and mark down August 22-23 on your calendars. A big thank you to the great people at Bismarck Parks and Rec for working with us to make the Prairie Dog Jamboree a reality. If anything changes we'll let yall know, but for right now full steam ahead.

If you're interested in being a sponsor, volunteer or playing the shows please submit a contact us form under the Join the Jamboree dropdown in the menu. I will update everyone with location in Bismarck, once everything is set in stone. Unfortunately, paperwork takes time, and I have a lot to do over the next couple of weeks to ensure everything is ready for the jamboree.

I have set up a donation jar at the bottom of the page if you're looking to help now. While we will be offering admissions free of charge to ensure accessibility for the whole community, if you are able to donate to the Jamboree please do so below. Your $5, $10 or even $20 donation may not seem like much, but with a little help I'm positive we can throw a great jamboree for the community.

Updates for April

First a big thank you to all the musicians, vendors and sponsors I'm working with this year to accomplish great things for the Bismarck community this summer. We are going ahead with planning on the Prairie Dog Jamboree, a two-day community music festival for Bismarck by musicians and small local businesses for musicians and small local businesses.

-Alone we are small but together mighty- Prairie Dog Call

We are currently working on a venue and will update everyone with final dates and location as soon as it is set. We are hoping for the weekend of August 22-23 for any of you musical types that would like to reserve a spot on your Calander early.

We'll be out recruiting more bands at the you name it event at rhythm records, if you haven't been to one of these events you're missing out they are a gem in the local music scene. While a bit cramped and crowded at times, there's a little bit of something for everyone at the show Gus puts on.

Drunken Unicorns has been working on some new clips featuring our exclusive pug production library that are sooooooo cute and fun. I am glad they have a couple more songs in the works and are hoping to be ready for their first show the end of summer. You go unicorns go!  https://www.youtube.com/shorts/eTj0BUwWDgw

They have a shiny new logo that I'm sending off for the final polish and review this week, and I'll be market testing new merch for them soon, so keep your eyes peeled at the end of this month for a product launch with some awesome exclusive designs and a shiny new webpage for their band.
